I hit my dog

Sunday was not so easy as it should be. After let the visits to their homes, I ran over the dog when get in the garage. Shock was light, but at the same instant I knew what had happened. I needed no cries or barks, it was clear to me that the tire passed over the Lan. My daughter cried and the tears flowed. My wife faster take the animal to help him. I went to Internet search for a veterinary clinic. Soon after the incident, the pet was quiet. There were no signs of bleeding or injury. We waited a little. I even thought about not going to the vet, but as the Lan showed no signs of improvement or worsening decided the best thing to do was take the question at once or no one would sleep that night.

Sunday is a day of empty, roads and clinics. At least what we found that day. We were the only customers on site and were met quickly. At first sight all right. The X-ray also showed no fractures. The doctor concluded that Lan is a very lucky dog and recommended remedy for pain, antiseptic and relaxing. In next weekend we will return to check how her recovery.

Now that Lan is out of danger and recovering well it's easy to speak, but until Tuesday there was still a certain fear in the air.

Christmas 2010

Since a long time does not appear here and I believe that is nothing better than come back sharing good things. My Christmas gift ever comes before 25. Santa Claus and I have a strained relationship. He can not wait. In the first moment he takes the gift in hands he wishes delivery it as soon as possible. It was so early in the month received my new digital camera. A Sony DSC-W320. My new faithful companion of all times. The other surprise was two unlined notebooks and a book in the series Rick Riordan. Three perfect gifts. For those who do not know I still like writing by hand. I'd rather throw the rough idea on paper and then refine at the time of typing. My current notebook is already almost full and should retire in early January. Which is great because I can begin the use of my presents. For last I was rewarded with a book from Digestivo Cultural. A website about culture and I always read that constantly promotes deals with books as prizes. My gift this time was a book of "Sidney Sheldon." Not quite the SS, since that's been dead for some time and the book is recent. In fact SS has become a franchise like the James Bond / Ian Flaming and the book was written by Tilly Bagshawe. When I was a teenager had a bias with SS and their works, but that was before I knew he was the creator of I dream of Jeannie. What would alone be enough for me to become a fan of the guy, but he also created Hart to Hart other successful series of my childhood. So at least he deserves my respect.


And so, full of gifts and good about life that I intend to return to the blogosphere and into the year 2011.

Runing in the top of trees

Sunday, 25/07/10, was the day of the run into trees. Waking up early, put family into the car and get a foot on the road. Like ever the output delay, but nothing more than a stepped on the accelerator was not able to circumvent. In the municipality of Gaspar (Blumenau backyard) a few minutes to get to the SESI, I discover that my path is blocked because of a marathon. Being that was the only way I knew the despair was taking over me as I ran by SC-470 treading a path totally new and unknown. I crossed the city of Blumenau until I could get to the sports complex of SESI. Luckily the others runners had the same disorder that I do.

Thereafter wearing safety equipment, harness, helmet, gloves we go for the trailhead where the monitors SESI pass the relevant guidelines, always focusing on and emphasizing the principles of safety. The beautiful forest, cut by a stream and a sunny day created the perfect background for the sport. Soon we were climbing one by one into the trees and defying the fear of heights and lack of balance. We went through three circuits that have provided us with fear, beauty, challenge, falls and laughs. In each circuit was three monitors. The first was responsible for connecting to a single lifeline. The second was our transition of the lifeline for the zip line. The third was down in the ground waiting to greet us at the end of the Tyrolean.

Once you cross the the trail arborismo came lunch time and then rappell in the tower lighting of the soccer field. The height was 30 meters, I'm pretty sure it must have been a little more. New guidelines were passed security and I went in search of a new experience. A monitor stayed next to the stairs teaching, connect to the cables hangs after disconnecting them and drops him to the next colleague who would carry out the climb. In the top another monitor taught how to use the brake and what we should do to get off. The third monitor was down doing the safety of the rappel down.

Despite the height and never before made a descent, those first one not so lousy I felt cold in the stomach. The problem was to move my body thru platform to start. The descent else was quiet. Gave it to look down, around, make some leaps and also I have learned that you can not dreaming in the rope. In a great leap in the fall I felt the heat of friction. Nothing to hurt me or put in danger, but certainly important to remind me where I was and how much concentration I should devote to the subject.

And even after all the new experiences and adventures the best part was knowing that during my journey in the woods, my daughter had the following conversation with his mother:

Daughter - Mom, Dad went into the forest Mom! C'mon. Let's find my father. I had a father so good. Let's go save father. I loved so much this father.

After that the two got in the forest, follow by a trail and climbed a very high hill. From the top, could see the whole gym SESI and the tower that I climbed so high it was. Not content to have gone up the trail and down the slope before lunch, made a point that she wanted would accompany them in a replay right after the rappel. Result, when I reached the top my tongue looked like a tie and my daughter was so fresh and jumping like a goat.

To sum it all: it was a wonderful day that was with a taste for more.

Runing in the trees

Sunday is the day of the Sesi tree adventure race . I was invited by colleagues at work and less athlete I'll still be involved. I never had fear of heights, I always liked to know different things so my plans are to spend the Sabbath in Itajai and Sunday morning climb trees and swing on Blumenau's highs. A little adventure to give spice to life. The good thing is that there is no pressure to complete the task in less time. The only thing that matters is to complete the race and have joy. Then I come back with pictures of the event.

Loosing weight with Nintendo Wii

I was never a skinny guy. My habits and genetic never helped to maintain a very healthy body. However I have been in better physical shape than the current one. Laziness, physical inactivity and poor nutrition make my weight go from 92 to 112 Kg in the last 10 years.

Now it is time to reverse this situation. In search of a healthier life and less sedentary bought a video game. Okay that was not a big deal, but this is always a good excuse for some hours of playing. At first glance exercises and video games has no conection but with the arrival of the Nintendo Wii this approach occurred. And I intend to share my walk in search of better health using this console.

Since Sunday 13/06/10 play regularly every night, at least 40 consecutive minutes. The next step is to record my weight and observe if there was any change. So until next time.

In the book launch

Oh I and Helium in the picture after he autographed my copy of his first book of poetry. I was the first to buy on the day of launch. Now I'm glad with one friend that concretize yours dreams.

My car collided

To make a good start in the week I report yesterday afternoon when I get out of the job somebody hit on my innocent car.Nobody was hurt but the driver's door does not lock anymore. Today is day of chasing the insurance and twist to make everything right and don't rain too.
